Former Secretary General to replace Alain Carrière
Following the elective General Assembly held from February 18 to 23, 2026, Sandra Berger, Secretary General of the FFME since 2021, is the French National Federation's new president, elected with 94.8% of the vote.
On November 17, 2025, the Federation was informed by letter of Alain Carrière's intention to resign from his position as President of the FFME, while remaining a member of the Board of Directors.
Having been involved for 12 years in federal bodies, in Ile-de-France and then in Occitanie, and general secretary of the FFME for almost six years, Sandra Berger defends the values of the sport association model focused on collective interest, commitment and volunteering.
“First and foremost, I would like to thank the clubs, leagues and territorial committees for the trust they have placed in me through this vote," said Berger after her election*. "I also thank Alain Carrière for his commitment over these many years."*
Berger continued*: "Our federation is enriched by the experience of its members. This wealth of experience has informed our 2025-2028 strategic plan, an ambitious and innovative plan built around four pillars; Discover, Progress, Perform and Engage. Its objective is to meet the challenges of tomorrow and support our emotionally rich sporting activities.*
"As president, I want to offer a modern, accessible, and collaborative form of governance. Solidarity and collective commitment are fundamental values for me: together, we will go faster, higher, and stronger.”
