The World Climbing Series 2026 calendar is set with the confirmation of four stops in China taking the total to 13 events across the three disciplines.
World Climbing and China's National Federation - the Chinese Mountaineering Association - have confirmed the cities of Keqiao, Wujiang, Guiyang and Chongqing will each host a World Climbing Series 2026 event.
Once again the climbing season will kick off with Boulder in Keqiao on 1-3 May before switching cities and disciplines for Speed and Lead in Wujiang on 8-10 May.
Later in the year, Guiyang will again host Speed as the first of two successive World Climbing Series events in China with Chongqing returning to the circuit after previously hosting IFSC World Cup’s between 2012 and 2019.
Guiyang on 11-13 September and Chongqing on 18-20 September will both showcase the Speed discipline adding the relay and mixed relay competitions to the standard format.
While the latest confirmation means that the World Climbing Series 2026 is complete, World Climbing is investigating adding a further World Climbing Para Series event potentially taking the number to five events following the announcement of Gunsan, South Korea late last year.
A FULL WORLD CLIMBING SEASON AHEAD
Following the start of season in China, during the summer months the Series will move to Europe for a packed schedule of Boulder, Lead, and Speed competitions that will take the circuit to Switzerland, Spain, Czechia, Austria, Poland, France, and Slovenia.
For the second consecutive season, World Climbing will make a stop in South America, with the final stage scheduled in Santiago, Chile, in late October.
The Para Climbing season will open in May with the traditional start in Salt Lake City, USA. The other two hosts of Para Climbing World Cups in 2025 – Innsbruck, Austria, and Laval, France – have also been confirmed on the 2026 calendar with the Series at present finishing in Gunsan, South Korea in October.
