Boulder titles, new Speed champions, and a national record highlight the event

The Brazilian Climbing Championship 2026 took place in Curitiba, Brazil, from 17 to 19 April with Boulder and Speed competitions, bringing together the country’s top athletes for a weekend of high-level performances and closely contested finals.

BOULDER TITLES DECIDED

Mariana Hanggi claimed the women’s title with a consistent performance across all rounds, securing the win despite sustaining an injury. Júlia Izzo took silver, while Bianca Melo completed the podium. Four of the eight finalists were making their senior debut.

In the men’s event, Rodrigo Hanada and Samuel Silva finished tied on points, with Hanada awarded gold on countback. Felipe Ho secured bronze after a solid performance throughout the competition.

SPEED HIGHLIGHTS

The Speed competition saw new champions crowned and a national record set. Caio Soares claimed the men’s title after Pedro Egg—who had set a new Brazilian record of 5.91 seconds earlier in the event—was disqualified for a false start in the final. Egg placed second, with Caio Egg third.

Débora Albuquerque secured the women’s title ahead of Bianca Iannarelli and Valentina Ribas.

Across both events, athletes set multiple personal bests, highlighting the continued development of Speed Climbing in the country.
