MORI PERFECT, LEE NEAR-FLAWLESS IN BOULDER FINALS IN MEISHAN

Japan’s Mori Ai topped every problem, while South Korea’s Lee Dohyun claimed gold with a near-perfect round

The World Climbing Asia Championship Meishan 2026 continued on Friday, 10 April, with the Boulder finals, as women competed at 14:00 and men followed at 17:30, delivering a full day of high-level Climbing.

MORI CLIMBS TO PERFECTION, JAPAN SWEEP THE PODIUM

Mori Ai of Japan claimed gold in the women’s Boulder final with a perfect score of 100.0 points, flashing all four boulders in a dominant display. The Japanese climber, had previously qualified in seventh place from the semi-final, delivering when it mattered most.

Sekikawa Melody of Japan secured silver with 85.0 points, recording three flashes and adding a zone flash on the second boulder. The result marked a significant improvement for Sekikawa, who had placed fifth at the previous Asian Championship in Tai’an in 2024. Ito Futaba of Japan completed the podium with 69.4 points, topping the first and last boulders of the round. Ito matched her bronze medal performance from Tai’an 2024, confirming her consistency at continental level.

LEE LEADS MEN’S FINAL

Lee Dohyun of South Korea took gold in the men’s Boulder final with 99.9 points, completing an almost flawless round. Lee topped the first problem on his second attempt before flashing the remaining three, securing victory with a stellar performance. His result placed him just shy of a perfect score, but clearly ahead of the field in a competitive final.

Narasaki Tomoa of Japan claimed silver with 84.7 points, adding to his extensive record at the Asian Championship, where he has now won six medals across all disciplines. The Japanese climber improved on his third-place finish from 2024, despite falling short on the third boulder.

Dohi Keita of Japan secured bronze with 74.8 points, also unable to top the third problem. Competing in only his second international event since 2022, Dohi continued his return to form after taking silver at an Asian Cup event in 2025. He is set to return to the circuit at the opening event of the World Climbing Series in Keqiao, China.
