World Climbing Europe releases 2027 calendar

World Climbing Europe presents its competition calendar for 2027 that includes the Europe Youth Series, Europe Series, Europe Youth Championships and Europe Para Championship.

The first of 26 events throughout the year takes place in Lleida, Spain with the Europe Youth Series in Boulder on 3-4 April, before moving throughout the continent to finish with the Europe Youth Series and Europe Series in Toulouse, France on 29-30 October for the Speed discipline.

Each of the core climbing disciplines – Boulder, Lead and Speed – will have their own standalone Europe Youth Championship with Lead in Augsburg, Germany on 25-26 September before Speed stays in the country but moves to Leipzig on 2-3 October. The Boulder event is yet to be confirmed and will be at a later date.

The Europe Youth Championship in Lead also marks the first time that a host venue has signed a multi-year deal meaning climbing will take place in Augsburg until 2028.

Geneva, Switzerland plays host to a multi-sport event with Para Climbing included for the Europe Para Championship on the 2-4 August – this marking another first for the sport.

The firsts continue with three new countries added to the list of host nations. The Netherlands, Norway and Sweden will all host a World Climbing Europe event for the very first time in 2027 and the cities making their debut are Nieuwegein, Bergen and Gothenburg.

Following the recent release of the World Climbing Series 2027, high-level competition will visit many new cities and countries across the continent throughout the year in an action-packed season.
