Jordanian delegation meets with World Climbing President Scolaris and FASI President Battistella
During the World Climbing Youth Championship in Arco, World Climbing President Marco Scolaris met with Jordan Head of Delegation, Abdelqader Aldabbas, to discuss the continued development of Climbing in Jordan. The meeting was also attended by Silvia Verdolini, World Climbing Research and Development Director.
The discussion focused on strengthening Climbing opportunities in the country and building on recent development initiatives. Among these is the shipment of Climbing holds to Jordan as part of the legacy programme following the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, supporting the growth of grassroots climbing and access to quality training infrastructure.
As an additional contribution, President Scolaris requested the support of the Italian Sport Climbing Federation (FASI) to further expand training opportunities. FASI President Davide Battistella immediately agreed to donate a Speed hold, helping Jordan develop Speed alongside Lead and Boulder disciplines.
The initiative reflects the shared commitment of World Climbing and its member federations to foster the global growth of Climbing by increasing access to facilities, equipment, and development opportunities for emerging climbing nations.
