The World Climbing Series returns to Salt Lake City, USA, from 16 to 18 October for the final Boulder event of the 2026 season.

A BASEBALL STADIUM FOR THE BOULDER FINALE

This year’s competition will take place at Smith’s Ballpark, the former home of the Salt Lake Bees baseball team. The venue will offer a distinctive setting for Climbing, with the Wasatch Range providing a striking natural backdrop.

The Boulder season began in May in Keqiao, China, where Japan’s Anraku Sorato secured the first of five consecutive wins in the men’s event. The Series then travelled to Bern, Switzerland; Alcobendas, Spain; Prague, Czechia; and Innsbruck, Austria.

The women’s competition produced four different winners across its first four events. France’s Zélia Avezou won her first World Climbing Series gold in Keqiao, while Australia’s Oceania Mackenzie also earned her first victory in Bern, and Great Britain’s Erin McNeice prevailed in Alcobendas. At the fifth of six Boulder events in Innsbruck, Annie Sanders of the USA became the first athlete to claim two women’s Boulder gold medals this season.

SERIES TITLES ON THE LINE IN SALT LAKE CITY

At Salt Lake City 2026, the winners of the Boulder Series Rankings, presented by Euroholds, will also be crowned. In 2025, Anraku won the men’s title to become only the third climber to claim three consecutive Boulder Series titles. France’s Mejdi Schalck and Japan’s Amagasa Sohta completed the podium.

France’s Oriane Bertone won the women’s trophy ahead of Japan’s Mao Nakamura and Sanders.

The event will bring leading athletes from around the world to a new competition environment, with the Boulder season’s final honours on the line. Tickets go on sale on 3 August, with further details to be announced in due course.
