Valentina Aguado and Alejo Suter both took a National Championship double winning the Boulder and Lead titles in Argentina
The Argentina National Championships took place over two venues with more 40 athletes for Boulder and 36 for Lead heading to Buenos Aires from around the country to compete.
Boulder was held on 2-3 April at “El Rocodromo” in La Plata while on 4 April Lead was contested at “Cima” wall in Monte Grande. Both were organised by the Buenos Aires Climbing Association (AEBA).
For the women’s Boulder, Aguado took gold ahead of silver medallist María Herrera and bronze medallist Zoe Garcia Molina.
Suter won the men’s Boulder competition ahead of Ariel Flores Cheun in silver and Máximo Lorger in bronze.
Aguado completed her double by winning the Lead competition ahead of Herrera who once again took silver, and bronze medallist Margarita Glyachkova.
In men’s Lead, Suter took gold ahead of Francisco Medina in silver and Luca Turi in bronze.

For the athletes, the event has a direct impact on the Argentine Ranking which determines slots for various international competitions such as the World Climbing Series and the South American Games in Santa Fe, scheduled for September.
The Argentina National Climbing Championships 2026 was brought together by a team of judges, route-setters and FASA delegates, medical team and a valuable contribution from all the volunteers.
Next month, the city of Esquel, Chubut will hold the the Argentine Youth Climbing Championship (U19 & U17) for Boulder on 1-3 May.
