The ‘Good Vibes for Luce’ Award is a prize given at selected youth competitions and is awarded to a climber showing the spirit of Luce - combative, smart, stylish and most of all fairplay.

Luce Douady was a young French climber who won gold in the Boulder World Championship, and a bronze in Lead, in Arco in 2019.

Sadly, Luce passed away in 2020 at the age of 16 during an exposed approach walk when her foot slipped and she fell.

Ene was chosen for the award by a select committee put together by Luce’s parents Julien and Anne, and was made up of brother Willem, French climber Saula Lerondel and Italy’s Claudia Ghisolfi. Ene was presented with a trophy ahead of the U17 Boulder medal ceremony.

On the decision to give Ene the award the committee said: "Maya was chosen because she arrived on each boulder with both big power and a big smile, and despite the results, she tried, and tried, and tried again until saving the zone on boulder four. The trophy is designed to encourage such behaviour and to enjoy the climb before everything else."
