Japan's Ryo Omasa crowned Athlete of the Week by Instagram voters

Ryo Omasa was voted as your 'Athlete of the Week' in our Instagram poll after taking Speed gold in Chongqing.

The Japanese climber claimed his first ever gold medal in the World Climbing Series after moving quietly and confidently through the men's Speed competition finals rounds.

Omasa won with 39% of the vote ahead of the Italy's Guilia Randi who won three medals from the three competitions she entered. Randi had 31% of the vote. Men's Speed relay team - Ukraine's Hrhyorii Ilchyshyn and Yaroslav Tkach had 18% and the women's relay team of Jingyue Fan and Shaoqin Zhang had 9% of the vote.
