For the second consecutive season the Boulder Series stops at the Bern Expo, where the second stage of the year is set to take place from 22 to 24 May
The World Climbing Series Bern 2026 is the 421st World Cup or World Climbing Series event in the history of World Climbing, featuring the 161st Boulder competition. It is also the third event held in Bern and the 25th staged in Switzerland.
A total of 166 athletes are registered to compete, representing 35 nations across all five continents.
ATHLETES’ HIGHLIGHTS
Belgium’s Chloe Caulier and Japan’s Nonaka Miho are both set to make their 58th Boulder appearance at World Cup or World Climbing Series level, moving into joint sixth place on the all-time list.
All six medallists from 2025, including Nonaka, who won bronze in Bern last year, are returning to the Swiss city.

In the men’s Boulder event, Japan’s Narasaki Tomoa, who will turn 30 next June, is set to compete in his 60th Boulder event, while South Korea’s Chon Jongwon, who turned 30 in February, will make his 55th career Boulder start.

THE PROGRAMME
The World Climbing Series Bern 2026 is set to begin on Friday, 22 May, with two Boulder qualification rounds: women’s at 9:00 (UTC+2:00) and men’s at 15:30. Saturday, 23 May will feature the women’s semi-final and final, while the event will conclude on Sunday, 24 May, with the men’s semi-final and final.
