The World Climbing Europe Youth Series made its way to St. Pölten, Austria, for a Speed competition contested across the U17 and U19 age categories, in both men's and women’s
FOUR DIFFERENT NATIONS, FOUR GOLDS
Maksymilian Myśliwiec of Poland claimed the men's U17 title in 5.90, holding off Italy's Giorgio Villa (7.08) and Bulgaria's Lachezar Daskalov, who rounded out the podium in 6.01.
In the women's U17 final, Austria's Lara Haselwanter won on home soil in 7.56, ahead of France's Elena Pasturel (9.11) and Varvara Mikheeva, who took bronze in 7.98.
The women's U19 gold went to Eva-Lina Rymasz of France in 7.58, with Ukraine's Mariia Shymkova (9.01) and Germany's Lisa Wucherer (8.57) completing the podium.
Switzerland's Gilles Meili topped the men's U19 field in 5.15, edging out an all-French battle for the remaining spots, with Léo Grosset taking silver in 5.29 and Florian Virapin claiming bronze in 5.49.
FRANCE LEADS ON MEDAL COUNT
Despite going without a men's U17 or women's U17 gold, France was the most decorated nation of the event, adding two silvers and a bronze to Rymasz's gold for four total medals across the four categories.
