Eight gold medals were awarded across Lead and Speed competitions in Austria

The World Climbing Europe Youth Series continued in Imst, Austria, from 4 to 6 September, with climbers competing in Lead and Speed across two age groups – U17 and U19.

Eight titles were awarded over three days of competition. Athletes represented 29 nations – Austria and Germany each claimed two gold medals, while Great Britain, Italy, Serbia and Ukraine also reached the top step of the podium.

LEAD AND SPEED MEDALS IN IMST

The Austrian home team claimed two titles, with Lara Haselwanter taking gold in the women’s U17 event and Anika Deubler winning women’s U19 Lead. Deubler was also crowned youth world champion in the same event at Arco 2026 last July.

Germany also celebrated two Speed victories, with Moritz Müller claiming the men’s U17 title and Felix Schauwecker winning gold in the men’s U19 event.

Serbia’s 15-year-old Milena Casetta dominated the women’s U17 Lead competition, while Italy’s Leonardo Donola took gold in the men’s Lead event of the same age group.

Great Britain’s only gold medal came in the men’s U19 Lead competition, where Isaac Sutton secured the title. Ukraine’s Mariia Shymkova completed the list of winners with gold in the women’s U19 Speed event.
